Nobody wins by hurting Juneau’s economy. Vote NO on Proposition 2.

Vote NO to protect our jobs, our services and our community.

Who We Are

Protect Juneau’s Future has united a diverse coalition of local stakeholders, including representatives from tourism, labor, construction, nonprofits and economic development sectors. Our broad-based coalition reflects the widespread community interest in maintaining balanced and effective tourism management. Together, we strive to ensure that Juneau continues to thrive economically and socially.

Why Vote No on Prop 2 ?

Economic Harm

Banning cruise ships on Saturdays threatens many local jobs and will cost Juneau $30 million in lost spending and $3.7 million in sales tax revenue, which funds essential services like education and public safety.

Community Impact

Local businesses, shops, restaurants and service providers rely on visitor spending, especially on weekends, to stay open and support year-round employment. The ban would hurt our neighbors and reduce the economic stability of Juneau families.

Effective Solutions

The City and Borough of Juneau have already negotiated agreements with the cruise industry to manage tourism sustainably. Current visitor caps ensure controlled growth, addressing concerns without drastic measures that harm our economy. These caps have not yet taken effect, so it’s important to allow these collaborative solutions to work before considering additional measures. Acting prematurely with new legislation could undermine the inclusive process that has been carefully developed.
